High-Leverage Strategies in Teaching Arabic

In this workshop, participants will explore several high-impact teaching strategies that are both inclusive and aligned with best practices in world language education. Each strategy addresses the supported language skills, a rationale for using the strategy, cautions to consider, and examples of activities for applying the strategy. Participants will be able to adapt this workshop to their own teaching contexts and classroom environments by designing their own activities. Moreover, participants will be invited to share their expertise and feedback as part of the workshop’s overall objective to build a sense of community among educators

This workshop focuses on how to create an inclusive environment in your classroom. Starting with ways in which we can foster inclusivity and address inequity in any classroom and moving to inclusivity in the Arabic language classroom specifically, workshop attendees can come away with new ideas as well as products for their classrooms that can be implemented as soon as after the workshop.
